On winter's day
You bring to mind
The bleak emptiness
Of the lunar landscape
That gave you name
Not contented state of mind

Cold steel bench
Sends seep of shiver
Up my spine
No warmth of wood
Yields to lovers' carvings
Within your boundaries

And the fountains
That give you life
Are silent, dry
Like my burning throat
Do they ache, too?

In just a moment
Another leaf rustle or two
I'll put on my working face
And make sure it's tranquil
Not streaked with tears

Suthern beloved one, this is simply STUNNING, how you manage to evoke such depth of feeling I’ll never know I only know you do, and you do it like no other can too.

Sometimes I read something and I can see the picture, why is do you think that those times are mostly when I read your beauty? Possibly because YOUR writing is a shining wonder to see, it has a depth that few have, always it is good writing sometimes, and more often than not it is simply incredible writing, and this is. I swear if I could even think of lines that ran with the beauty you compress into every single one of yours I would be half the writer you are.

This is real poetry beloved one and YOU are a true poet, love it and love you muchly

I am not biased I am truthful this is outstandingly beautiful work

Love and warm stuff
as always

and to think I only stopped by on my way to the archives!!

(big angel hugs) Tranquility always centers within oneself, as YOU have the ability to bring stillness of heart to you! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, may the warmth of tranquility bring peace to you always, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Suthern, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

I love reading your work.
You always seem to make such simple feelings so majestic with your words. You are so very talented and so sensitive.

Ahhh Suthern, I hope there's no tears.
And it sounds like you have a sore throat too. Those dang steel benches...

And through all that, you still manage
to write this nice poem.

Now that's really special.

I hope you feel better soon.

Take Care,
Richy

Laura, your secret is safe with me....I won't tell a soul that you had doubts about posting this, questioned whether it was good enough....

The answer's still yes, by the way.
