The Seasons Of My Life

Brought forth during the splendor
when the flowers burst as one
Under blue sky mornings
as we’re nurtured by the sun

The nourishment of Springtime
bode the early days so well
The thawing of the past
approaching, creeks begin to swell

We flourish in the meadow,
with the grasses flowing sweet
The Spring of youth is waning
as we wither in the heat

We spring into the future
in some kind of summersault
We tumble to maturity
as if it’s by default

Fairer times behind us,
this is our place in the sun
It’s time to make some changes
before all is said and done

We look into the future
and we start to wonder why
Everything looks different
once the innocence has died

The days are getting cooler
And we’re almost half way there
We’re holding hands much tighter
As we both are more aware

With every leaf, the seconds click,
as time is drawing near
Gentle breezes whispering
the falling of the year

So suddenly, we’re ushered to
the Autumn of our life
The days are getting shorter,
as we overcome the strife

Another generation is now
holder of the torch
We spend our time with grandkids
slowly rocking on the porch

We look into each other’s eyes
and utter not a word
We share a love that goes beyond
all things that can be heard

We hug for one last time
in an embrace that never ends
The sun breaks through the
darkness, as finality impends

When then, my final winter comes
And I no longer am
When all the water from the
thaw has broken through the dam

Just know that I enjoyed my stay
up there above the ground
I only hope I caused more smiles,
then I did cause frowns

I'm really sorry about the search link on the word "flowers." For some reason my dang puter has been doing that for certain words lately...

If anyone knows how to get rid of this, I would sure appreciate your help.

Thank You!

From the look on your smiling face here and the kind responses you give to your fellow writers at PiP...I know you cause a lot more smiles than frowns m'friend.

Wonderful piece here Richy!

(big angel hugs) Oh Richy, you made me cry with this most beautiful song of your heart, but you didn't make me cry in sadness, but in joy knowing and blessed to have you as a friend in my heart who is sensitive and sweet and holds all the seasons and their blessings true to heart, I cry with a smile on my face! (wipes tears) God Bless You, sweet friend, you certainly make the smiles outnumber the frowns by a landslide, yay, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Richy, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Ice ~ Thank You Ice. You know what?  I think it’s only showing up on my computer. Lucky me huh... lol

Susan ~ I hope the rocking didn’t make you seasick or anything... lol  Seriously, Thanks a bunch Susan!

Nancy ~ Thank You so much Nancy, I really appreciate that! You know if it gets too bad, I could always start walking on my hands... then if I upset someone, it would look like they were smiling... well, it sounded good when I first thought of it?

Noah ~ To be considered a friend of yours, would be an honor for anybody, especially me. Your one in a billion Noah! Thank You, for always being there.

Seymour ~ It’s always an honor to receive a kind remark from a real gentleman. Thank you for that Seymour.

Dawn ~ How nice to be responsible for one of those pretty smiles of yours. Thank You Dawn, and I’m glad you liked it!

Bluesey ~ Oh Bluesy, thanks so much for that. You really are the best! A big hug for you too.

Dixie ~ That is so nice of you to say that Dixie, Thank You! Hey, and even if your coworkers use it for their darts, thanks again for saying that. That really made me smile.

If we're incredibly lucky, this is a time for any season. *S* I like this very much, Richy...
