1984 printed in the ambience of Uzbekistan
Ghosts of the past evaporating in a sealed hand
Beneath the ever watchful eye that pierces walls
And the silent ear that puncture’s deaf halls
The realm of the clandestine bread on terror
As the outer subtly strikes from the inner

Under the flag of red, white and blue
Freedom is chained to those referred to as who
As the forgotten tremble upon the floor of a malicious cellblock
Their time descends on a motionless clock

Hi Ben!

"Clandestine" was my word for the day a couple of weeks ago.  I wrote "Clandestine Canvas".  Occasionally, when in a dry writing spell, I'll simply pick up the dictionary, and whatever the first "non-conventional" word I see, I use in a poem.  It helps to get over the periods of un-naturally-birthed-creativity.

Thank goodness...because I knew it's meaning in your write!

Nice to read you!

deep, dramatic read...this line really jumped out at me:

"Freedom is chained to those referred to as who"

thought-provoking reference
