If I Could Swim A Sea

If I could swim a sea the color of your eyes,
drift until I reached a farther shore,
what peaceful place would I find?
Walking ashore from green into green,
would I come to lie on sand as soft,
as white, as warm as the skin you share
with no one but a lover? Would it yield
as subtly, mold as gently to my hand?
And on that shore would the night lie still,
dark as hair that sheens black
as the crystal space between midnight stars?
Would the moonlight smile as you do,
a radiance that is more caress than light,
and would a flowered breeze sigh
sweet as the trembling breath
within a depth as far as your horizon?
Would I sleep in that night,
and sleeping, dream of eyes that shimmer
green as waves that sparkle in the morning sun?
Waking, would I dream them still?

(sigh) Oh James, sweet friend, this is beautiful, you could swim if you dream of diving for pearls and slip on youths flippers! (big angel hugs) Your heart is an abyss of poetic wonders, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet James, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Wow James,
Just sweep the ladies off their feet will you.  I've been caught in dreamy eyes before.  If you stare to long, you can lose yourself.
Very nicely penned.
If "greeneyes" stops by, she may feel you are writing this one for her. (smile)
Keep up the good work.

This was amazing.

I could feel and see everything you described.

A pure magical metaphor.

Thanks for such an enchanting read.

I know... *G* I almost copied the entire poem... and in fact, it all deserves the highlighting. *S* This is so softly sensual, so dreamily romantic... so absolutely beautiful! *S*

James... Such a wonderful poetic expression on this day of love. I love the imagery within the words you have so expertly penned.
Your poetic language is superb. ***Ivy Rose
