I’ve often recalled those moments
stolen amongst the apple trees
where our blushing cheeks matched
the brilliance of the
red sequined orchard.
Each gem ripe and precariously
balanced, waiting to fall.

…As were you and I…

The only poetry needed
was the flowing of wind
through rain drenched
locks of hair.
How the droplets kissed
your lips...
those blue eyes could charm
the clouds from the crying skies
and steal a thousand moments of spring
in one breath,
for me,

always for me.

But we knew the seasons
were changing.
The monsoon was coming
so I collected our embraces
as petals of remembrance
so our garden would bloom again
Once the storm has passed.

…And still I wait for skies to clear…

Beautiful ..... hugs, Marti

I take no credit for my poems. Although I write them, I feel
more like I transcribe them. It's just a matter of listening.

Dawn, I loved this.
Every part of it, was perfect.

I spent a great deal of my youth playing
in the vast pear orchard, right behind our
back fence.

This really brought me back.
Thank You.
