Wandering With The Wind

I wish I could have found you
on those cold and lonely nights
I wish the stars had offered me
a little bit more light

I wish I didn’t have to put
this song into the fire
I wish I didn’t need the flames
to unleash my desire

The fire told the story
as the pages slowly burned
The words were rising high above
I hoped for your return

The smoke was gently lifting
in the hopes that you would see
The embers that were slowly
burning, deep inside of me

The melody was drifting
as it spiraled out of sight
I tried so hard to reach you
Did you hear me on that night?

Your everything that matters
in the universe within
A song without an ending that
we happened to begin

Your all I ever wanted,
my love never will recede
My song is sailing in the wind
It’s painful when you bleed

My passion floated far away
and scampered out of sight
My broken heart was smoldering
Where were you on that night?

Your message never came,
amidst the dismal winds of change
The fire slowly dwindled
and my soul went up in flames

But if you really listen,
when the wind is blowing right
When memories so cherished,
still continue burning bright

A spire will begin to rise
into the darkened sky
As love that never was to be,
comes back to say goodbye

It ruffles through the willows,
in a song we all can hear
It skirts along the dark blue lake,
and then it disappears

It’s on a journey now
that no one ever can rescind
My love for you that ever will be,
wandering in the wind

Richy~  I'm lost for words at the moment, but I wanted you
to know I was here and felt your words deeply.
I'm afraid my composure just slipped a notch.

It's great to read your endearing words again....
Thank you for this.

Was so delighted to see you here again. Had noted your absense.  Hope all is well.
This poem is a rendering of deep sadness, and I hope that all rests well with you.

Richy...The smile when I saw your name, replaced by sadness at this poem of such heartache. A hug to you, my friend, and wishes for peace in your life.

Bluesy, that’s such a sweet thing to say.
Some people can feel things in life,
that are expressed, without words...

Thanks so much Bluesy, for being one of them...
It's so nice to talk to you again!

Hi Kathleen!
Yes, all is well.
I’m still smiling, aint I?

lol

Thanks so much for the warm reply,
it’s always such a delight to hear from you!

Oh Martie, please don’t be sad.
Sure, we all have a little heartache deep inside.
But all in all, I’ve had one helluva life... lol

Blessings to you for the hug.
That alone, will keep me, always...

Thank You Foxy Oasis!
I so appreciate your kind words.
It’s nice meeting you!

Your rhyming here is so yummy.  The whole time I was reading, I was thinking, "smoke signals".  Your words, described here, are like ashes, forever grazing the land.

Wonderful in so many ways...word choice, meter, rhyme- the entire package is pure perfection to read.

So glad to read you again.

(big angel hugs) Oh Richy, this is so very sad but beautiful, sweet friend, your feelings mirror those I have in my recent love poetry, that I hold to my heart as sentimental value because I hate to see it thrown away like a child's toy box! (sad sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, you are so deserving of greatest loves happiness always, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Richy, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Richy,
I'm glad to see you posting.  I missed your work.  I see that this was written a little while back, but the message is timeless.  You have a way with words.

"...Your everything that matters

i wish i have your gifts,
maybe if i do, and maybe, if i could write
thoughts as wonderful as these, maybe i could capture the only person that matters in my sky.

forgive and forget,
live without regrets.
