Come on in; the whether is fine

Whether your preference is for poetry fine or prose divine
Or you like them short and sweet or epic in length
Come on in; the whether is fine

Whether haiku

fading sunset shields
shadows long to wintry nights
silencing sunlight

Whether senryu

faces freely frozen
forced in silly smiles so strained
just like momma said

Whether tanka

cold snow cleans the air
like sifting time lost from now
purifying souls
with unsoiled mindless fragments
revealing hearts sole desires

Whether free verse

softly speaks the heart to needless fire flames
quietly, gently, tenderly warmed
i speak to you within
and leave me alone to love you freely

Whether in rhyme schemes to scale

I love the A’s in neatness clean
The B’s in verse so neat
Were it not for A’s to make the mean
The B’s would seem so incomplete

Whether simple words that mean so much

Love lost will find the seeker
For seekers love the search
Of dreams and things that make us hope
In things that dreamers seek

Whether fancy words with meanings hidden

Surreptitiousness is minimally furtiveness
In shallows realms of contemplation
Divulging directives of design
From queried sentiments of salient minds

Whether form in alliterations

As always alliterations are awkward arrangements
Belittling basic beliefs beyond boredom
Causing caustic creations, clearly confusing
Doleful delusions, daunting dubitable designs

Whether Shakespearean in love-like letters

My heart doth break as dawn’s light upon the steam-filled bay
As tattered threads upon the handmaid’s well worn vested sash
It breaks for thee my sweet love of tender grace display
It knows no bounds nor binding; its flaming turns to ash

Come on in; the whether is fine

So, no matter your taste or your desire…whatever fans your flame
In Passions you will find it, for none are quite the same
One thing is for certain…of this you may agree
The poetry that you find here is of the first degree

(Dedicated to all the wonderful poets of Passion)

Now here's one welcome that no poet could pass up...I love this...and yep, it's going to my library.

Tell Linda to check your e-mail box.  I can't leave an inquiring mind in suspense. (smiles)

steavenr!

This is perfect!  I'm one to be attracted to "organization" in just about every aspect of life, and I love the outline of this poem!  I love the "list" and examples, with meanings same, but not.  This is the first poem I'm moving to my private library, it's a great summary of what will lie within.  A great introduction to a future collective piece...book...hint,hint.

A very special and awesome write.

huggles, Marti

I take no credit for my poems. Although I write them, I feel
more like I transcribe them. It's just a matter of listening.

Like ploughing a field with a horse... you put alot of work into this poem. Now you reap the harvest. Good work. I think this is original enough to submit to a journal!
