Sparkle-step, sparkle-step, colors all aglow
Kaleidoscope of shade tones, blue then red then blue
Sparkle-step, sparkle-step, skipping heel to toe
Explode in firework festivals in ever changing hue

Twinkling lights like dancing firelight fliers in ballet
Steps from shoe to shoe in orchestrated flight
Tiny feet their choreographers strut and then sachet
Like miniature aurora borealis on a cold and wintry night

Sparkle-step, sparkle-step, colors all aglow
Sparkle-step, sparkle-step, skipping heel to toe
Little child, little child, you bring delight to see such sight
Electric shoes, electric shoes, the light they shine tonight

smiling at this, because I remember their joy with "light up shoes"--and there is always the memory of my little girl wearing a "twirly skirt" and my son's serious face when he wore camouflage...

Thanks for reminding me of little joyful moments.

An absolutely delightful write to read tonight.  You brought a much needed smile to my face. Macy will love this...I am saving it for her return.

serenity, this was inspired by a little girl I saw at the restaurant when we went out to eat last night.  It was a long wait, and while all the adults looked around at each other like we wished everyone else was NOT there, she was a refreshing delight with her "special" shoes...glad it reminded you of your kids

Pat, so glad you liked it...hopefully Macy will too.  I think I have commented on hers, as well.

I asked my husband, after reading this aloud, what he thought it was about...and he said, "no idea".  HeheHe.  It reminds me of when I was little and doing a "shuffle step" rendition of "How much is that doggie in the window".

It reads fun, anyway!

Steaven~
What joy !

'Twinkling lights like dancing firelight fliers in ballet
Steps from shoe to shoe in orchestrated flight
Tiny feet their choreographers strut and then sachet
Like miniature aurora borealis on a cold and wintry night'

Oh yes ... the little feet dance with the laughter of the lights~
PRECIOUS~
