In a stand of pines
bent by the weight of snow,
this silent dawn-
the sole trace of fleeing deer;
white whirling from the branches.

We have pines here.  They remind me of naked q-tips, standing too tall for beauty and high enough to be hazardous.  They are like, ummm, the are like misplaced objects that have no real home.

Thank goodness not all pines are like the ones here in the Pee Dee region.

Paul~

I always have such memories when I read you....this brings back memories of going to my grandmothers farm where all the pines trees were so lovely and so big...thank you

I lie awake at night
I reach out to touch
Feel you by my side
I reach I never feel you
Will I ever get to feel you again
Just one more time

not many pine trees here, no snow whirling, and no deer fleeing..so i dont have much to recollect for you (everyone else seemed to have such lovely memories)...
but as far as this poem goes,
its left a tiny little painted image of a captured scene that really was nice to look at in this moment....

Thank you Dawn, and if you painted images for us of where you see the world from I know they would be most evocative.....~Paul

This picture is a familiar one...
and a lovely one too
Warming in its wintery way!
