the walls curve into focus
age old cracks spiral to a halt
it is here where the brides stretch their
ghostly fingers
                 it is here
where the baboon shivers with dreams
tossing them out toward mnemonic sea
only to have them bounce back up
into her two-faced
face

yet

she is colourful
daisy’s spring from her eyes still
and her lips move soundlessly

into the dankness of shells

she is sea-bitten
she stands akimbo by the
crippled shutters of the lighthouse
chin-wagging the walls to the ground…

this is where the cicadas reach her

where the puissant waves
repeatedly fold into her arms

uninterrupted

Beauty of the world which is soon to perish has two edges, one of laughter and one of anguish, cutting the heart asunder.

Maree....The color of this is somber, yet I also feel you poking fun at yourself...the fresh imagery is just so amazing and it leaves me feeling stunned.  That's a good thing.  So well done, my friend!  Hugs!

I am generally not one who enjoys free verse, but good writing overcomes one's biases.  Well written, enjoyed.

Hi Chumnas! (just a nick name my son Daniel and I have going at the moment )thank you all so very much for dropping by and for reading my lil lighthouse series.
I appreciate all your lovely replies, comment and your compliments. I've actually enjoyed writing them very much and hope to have more...it will be interesting even for me to see where I go with them.

Again, thank you all so very much

Maree.

It’s true Maree, you are gifted.
This is so superb.
It’s sad that it couldn’t go on forever...
Can hardly wait for the next scene to unfold.
Now I gotta go back and read the first two!
So wonderful... as is your picture.
Very becoming.

Take Care,
Richy
