Thursday, August 10, 2006:

Don't brush your loneliness
on my shoulder.
Like it's my fault.
Then have me walking around
with this burden pushing down on me.
Questioning my Mother's security.

Because you have problems
and at the sound of
the word No,
you shudder.

Don't take it out
on us,
because you're a full figure
grown man
on the outside.
But on the inside,
you're a three-year-old
and the empty space,
you choose not to fill,
hurts...

And you're mad,
because we don't let you
get away
with anything you want.
And we refuse
to be treated like slaves
or housekeepers...
Just because
you wanna be lazy.

And I know
that I shouldn't be writing this poem
about you,
because you're my Father.
But I refuse
to be like you,
taking my anger out on others,
because I don't have a way to vent.
So I deserve to express myself.
And I am not afraid
of the truth.
The youth speak up.
And I am one of the many.

So don't come at me,
like somebody who's been through the world,
and more.
Like you need a woman's hand
and to be treated like a baby.
But you call yourself a man.

Omgosh! I loved this part of the poem, it was simply amazing. The emotions running through this really stick out in such bold ways... I think you did an excellent job with this poem.

Thanks for sharing

Wow.. thats all I can say.

Desire nothing except desirelessness. Hope for nothing except to rise above all hopes.
Want nothing & you will have everything.
