and we watch the stars
barely visible and
solely unbruised
as my heart bleeds
into the very river
in which i am drowning

we grab and reach
and claw for
everything we can see
and nothing fits anymore
into my swollen grip

you run away,
erasing your sandy footprints
with even bigger steps
so many emotions
but not enough time
and too too much uncertainty,
for the sea erases
everything
but tears
