betting on love with
truth or dare    and
countless games of pool.
we were so innocent, but
guilty enough to know
that time is measured by
crashing waves and
broken hearts.

and the clock wastes away
the seconds
as your cigarette smoke
weaves into nothing.
i can't even hear the stars
twinkle
anymore over the sound
of my reality crashing down.

this game is always played
for keeps
and no  one ever wins.

Too late to cry, you're gone... why should I cry, you can't wipe the tears dry, so what am I to do? I need to be with you....-Me
