The mirror relects satisfaction
but the subject questions its truth.
A twisted hemp necklace lounges over the collarbone
and the exotic pink bead stands boldly in the center.
The light glints off the newly peirced ears; tiny gold studs add 3mm of flare to an empty area on either side.
Hair was pulled back earlier, in a habitious manner, without much thought. After a few hours of life, the loose strands begin to party, and the raggle taggle look that she loves oh so much has taken form. It's the perfect time between two showers: a natural smooth blonde shine, but not an oil drop past silk.
The ribbed tank top fits nicely around the tanned shoulders and shaped bra, and the slacks ride low on those hips.

So she wonders:
if she were robbed
of everything
that wasn't her's to begin with,
what would she have left?
If she were bare,
would she still see the beauty?

This show's some serious thought here. I loved the thought's this conveys. Would any of us see ourselves as beautiful if we we're stripped of our facade and our true selves laid bare? I'd like to think so, but I really don't know. Truly excellent first post!
