I had been trying to write a poem about living in the country kinda for a while. I had the title for about a year but never actually wrote it til tonight....tell me what you think.

Few places left where the street lights
dont drown out the stars at night
where skyscrapers aint been built up yet
where you can still enjoy a red sunset
one place that I know
you can smell the rain, and watch the snow
or hear a distant train's whistle blow
Just a place where I travel
where the tar stops and meets the gravel
where the red clay and sand
walk hand in hand, free from heavy loads
this is where I stand, on dirt roads

Woah, this really blew me away! Im not a city girl, so it felt like your words took me home. The descriptions were awesome.
This is going in my library.
Thanks for sharing.

If I could fall asleep tonight
you know I’d dream of you
and wake up wondering
why my heart is so cold

I haven't posted here forever, but this absolutely took words from my mouth. I was actually working on something kind of like this for a Literature assignment. Very, very, very good. I also live in the country, and wouldn't live in the city again for anything.

Being able to go out & ride the horses, scream and yell, play in the pond, go fishing, everything about it... awesome!

I used to live in Michigan and now I live in Redding California, so I know exactly what you are talking about. I miss it there so much. I hope you dont mind if I put this in my library.

-blink blink-  Something serious...  From Stinky Twinkie...  I never thought the day would come.  I'm quite impressed, and I too know what that place is like.  Very good right, it's nice seeing something serious from you.
