I smell of dirt and coffee and my hands never feel clean.
Can we get away from this?
or will they inspect the dirt under our nails and inquire where we've been digging.
It's a long way down by this time of year, we've made it a long way with only a marble and our tears.

We carry only a few keep sakes. keep safe they say.
stay dry
stay away.
We will.
and that will be the time you wish you had him again.
Right when the light catches on the corner of the picture frame.

Wrapped in spit and tears we are nothing but orphans here.
And we can never fall asleep without the light on.
Have you been where we have or do you just share the same freckles, the same eyes.
I sit in an empty bath tub and play with the facet, I break out all the plastic toys of old
and I set them up on their own private hills on my body.

We are still children and it will be okay.
I ask them to sing, but instead they whistle.
And she said she saw no difference, and I'm not one to argue.
In the understated splendor we stare and fall to stone.

exact thoughts eh? this piece had some amazing lines, the the part about being children but being okay and then the one about orphans and spit...awesome images. i seriously love your stuff, the rambling and confusing format of it...but i honestly don't understand any of it lol. i think i like it that way though, thanks for sharing. once again, you rock =)

Wow, this poem was awesome.. I loved all of it, but of course I have a favorite..

That part rocks, you are an amazing writer, keep it up!
