rumbling around in my
veins somewhere,
we saved it for a brighter
day.
the tears are too
much for my taste,
she complains wandering
around
somewhere inside
the tv screen.
be quiet and stop letting
people know
how much you're hurting.

this mask calls for some
broken pieces
of respect,
sitting in the tiny box and
reading
magazines about pretty
skinny regrets
and pink lip gloss.
it's not what you think,
don’t feel.
don’t feel for the sun.

and we walked around.
love was present
but i wasn’t able to read
between the lines,
wasn’t able to read his
mumbling lips.
it was all illusions anyway,
just visions
of things that are always
kept a secret.
hushed hues and
darker moons.
stumbling around in the
attic and
never finding your way.
and she doesn’t
know,
you don’t know.
that today,
we are all broken
inside of our
shell.

I love this! The end was my favorite part. Another one for my library.

If I could fall asleep tonight
you know I’d dream of you
and wake up wondering
why my heart is so cold
