My t-shirt is stained and my pants are frayed do you mind?
My hair tossled from a fit full sleep where the world was shown to me through a kaleidoscope.
And the color was a mixture of mid morning and late afternoon...all the simple times you hardly realize.

Are we here to skate by or are we here to say something even in our silence,
even in moments when such heavy bodies and even heavier eyes create ways to fall that we never imagined.

My face is stained with freckles my eyes hold specks of amber,
my hands grasp other shaking hands as we prepare to be the most sought after.
Where we sit between and against walls which grow lush grass and the lady bugs pee on our arms.

The world is checking us out and we wear stained T-shirts and silly grins knowing its no matter.
For how much I watch the people I know they must be watching me,
but I don't hide my hands like before because shame is nothing like what were meant to feel.

I could tell you everything about my life in under an hour but that doesn't involve all that I am in this very moment
those things simply happened to me, I did nothing to create them. I am born of these people and they of me.
That is entirely short of defining my existence.

My grandmother sang me nonsense songs like she did to all the children
but she could not save me from beneathe the blue carpet, because she must have been cooking dinner.
You see. These things simply happen to you. They will not define you.

This is where we lean against heavy branches, I am the forst guide and the woodened creatures throw accorns at our eyes.

I have heard words more true than these only rarely.  I've decidedly said and done many stupid things, and yet those people see a person nothing like what I portray.  You are more than the sum of your experiences; more than an amalgamation of all that has happened  to you.  You can show people whatever you want, but those who take the effort to know you, will see your true colors, regardless of what you show them.  I agree; in a way, the people we see are created by our minds out of what we infer from their appearence; just as they do us.  That's what first impressions are.  The trick is not to let those impressions define how we think of a person, but to give everyone a chance.  I really liked this, Lexy!  I'm quite fond of deep philosophical poetry, bad as I am at writing it myself.  Hope you don't mind if I show this to a few people.  It's just so awesome!
