You’re not bruised
so you can’t be broken
there are no stories told
by tears that have fallen

you’re not bleeding
so you can’t be hurt
why are you playing this game,
why do you cry out in pain?

Your stony expression
tells me nothing
your guarded exterior
gives away no hint of how you feel

I hear you tell yourself
that you will care for your ache
when no one is looking
why bother them with your petty pains?

but if no one is looking
then no one will ever know
that you need them,
that you want them to see through you

you have this display
perfected down to the T
even the windows of your soul
are trained to never show pain

the curtains are drawn
and the lights are dimmed
you flash your brilliant smiles
who could ever know they aren’t genuine?

You’re not crying
so you can’t be hurt
you’re not on your knees
so you can’t be weak

you’re not bruised
so you can’t be broken.

But Im comforted
by the fact that I can hurt inside
all I want to
without anyone ever knowing

lol wow I just posted one somewhat similar to this one. I just loved this one, it's so good at expressing how people hide so much of what they feel and are so good at it(at least that's what I got from it) great job Winter Wren!

One day u'll ask which is more important,u or my life. I'll answer my life and u'll walk away never knowing u are my life.

Hmm.  I like the way you ended this one.  It gave a sense of finality to the whole thing.  Loved, as usual.  Emotional as always.  *fancy bow*  And deffinately deserving of that.  (^.^).

and shuddered at what I found there;

Daaaaaaaaaamn...I wish I had the talent that you have. I swear, everytime I'm gone for a little while, I come back read something of yours and am automatically drawn into it. your phrasing and how you use your language skills perfect your work 110%.

Awesome job, it's loved.

Peace!
