From a cradle to a casket

We sat there smoking cigarettes and saving the rainforest and I honestly couldn't manage out how it felt.

We spoke casually and I tried my best to be patient with my instincts.

I withstood the impact of all my emotions begging me to ask.

But I held them back with this willpower that only falters at two in the morning.

I made you close your eyes.
And you know what was coming.

Maybe an hour away will teach what ten minutes and no car taught me.

Maybe when our hands brush each other and I get the instinct to stop yours from swinging, you won't feel awkward.

Or maybe this will all tumble out into the open and everything will be ruined.

I'm willing to find out.

She would rather be dead than fat,
Dead and perfect, like Nefertiti
