From a cradle to a casket

"Summer has treated us well."
as you took a sip. And it has, to say the least. We sat in your garage rolling joints and smoking one after another; after another for the remainder of the night. I sat in the purple chair you claimed to be my own, and you played that acoustic guitar for me. Minutes seemed like hours and our night never ended. And for the second time in my life, I felt connected and relaxed. And you; my pre-school friend; the boy I've grown up with; the boy I found myself within- Where are you? You gave up your bed for me, as you slept on the floor singing The Getup Kids, for me, all for me...
With my eyes barely opened in the morning, I heard you yawn and stretch your arms behind your head and completely fall onto the carpet. With the sun beaming rays of light onto your face...
Were all scared of change.

We made eachother breakfast and I was on my way out, just when I ran inside to wrap my arms around you, and we both thanked each other for the company we shared...
Within this month alone, life has changed; so have we. I quit smoking, and today I was put on probation for a year. And facing the consequences is something I’m willing to do. And I just hope, [with the everything I'm currently able to hold] that we come in contact once again, Should I give you a call tonight?

and everynight, I think of you and I manage to ly myself back down again.
and again
and again
and again
and again

and again.

I choose my company by the beating of their hearts

This was awesome. Great work and an amazing way to get your feelings out, of course! I like how it twisted around. Good job! ~Jess

this speaks a lot of truth. and it
seems that you manage that in all
of your poetry, something that i'm
hoping i'll be able to accomplish
some day.

your writing is a true inspiration
to me.
