I really tried so hard to hate you;
Hate, after all, should come so much easier
- After all that you put me through -
But that’s not how it’s to be.

I used to lie in bed at night
Dreaming of the future in terms of ‘we’
For just one moment, everything was right
I even wanted to make you a wife

But I guess you weren’t ready for me;
You weren’t ready for what I offered:
A love never ending, a love you couldn’t see
No, I wasn’t what you needed.

The truth was always plain to see
You weren’t ready to settle down
You were only ‘playing house’ with me
To you it was never really real

What you wanted wasn’t love at all
It was to have someone pay attention to you
To have them at your beck and call
To show that you could be wanted

To prove your importance to everyone
To prove to them that you mattered
If only to a certain someone
Because you could never see

What you really are
Who you could become
And just how very far
You are from where you’re from.

But someday
In some subtle way
You’ll come to see
Just who you can be

And you’ll see you for what you are
The potential you have inside
You’ll see you’ve come so far
And that you never had to hide.

Ehh, yet another poem about my ex-girl.  Can't seem to get her off my mind.  I don't think this is as good as my last one, but it's just as full of raw emotion, from the heart to the pen, no thought involved.  Most of my writing is that way.More thought = worse poem.  Well, enjoy!

Part of knowing where I'm going
is knowing where I've been

Oh no, don't start the bowing again!! As our "evil" sides would say, we're cuter standing up. LOL, you saw that one coming didn't you?
Ah, another poem I can relate to. Actually I think I relate to every poem of yours that I've read. Well this one was no exception! Emotional, heartfelt poems are the best.
Here's a quote that I think fits right now, There is perhaps no greater frustration than caring when you really don't want to care. I hope your pain eases soon. Feel free to email me and spill your guts if you want, venting helps.
hehe

But Im comforted
by the fact that I can hurt inside
all I want to
without anyone ever knowing

I liked it. It was great, but what part I would change...Rather, just a suggestion.

The part about "...a wife" I think it should my wife. More personal and 'a wife' makes me think you're looking for like 5 wives at the same time or something. Just a suggestion.

Other then that, I know all about this situation...and I'm always here to talk buddy. Miss ya! PEACE!
