From a cradle to a casket

That picture I know you took. It said a thousand words.

And all of them hurt.

It's not the falling that kills you, bones don't get broken in a freefall.

It's all the pavement you hit when it's over.
I want to be everything I can't ever manage to achieve. I want to be that poet you swoon over, or the artist you melt just being near.

But I'm not any of those oh so impressive traits God or Alllah or nature decides to sometimes spit out.

I will never put anyone in awe over anything I create. I mold witty comparisons with pretty headings and quote everything jumbled inside my head.

I try my best to beat all of the feelings down into the pit of me so that I don't say the wrong thing of feel something I need to feel.

Because crying with no shoulder feels so empty anymore.

And I'm not living it up, I'm just pretending to survive.

And I just wanted you because I guess everything you were seemed like something I'd never have again. And now it's moving off the edge and I'm jumping off the cliff, never looking down.

I can't fall because I won't accept it.

I won't fall because I know exactly what bottom feels like.

And every single time you said forever.

That seven year old in me who never trusted anyone, plugged his ears and let me think for a split second it would be just like that.

And it wasn't. And you'll go back to your cooler then me friends. And your funner then me times.

And you won't look back, except to ask me how things are, and make those little yellow faces and always hold so much.

And you'll say all the right things that won't let that fire inside of me you lit go out.

And I don't want to be anything if not for someone I care so deeply about.
But I'm just a kid right? And life goes on right?

And we grow up right?

Tell that to all the 50 year old children.

Tell that to my dad.

Tell that to my mom.

If this is the best of times.

And it's all down hill from here.

Count me out.

I'll close my door, and shut my eyes, and wait for it to rot.
"If life ain't beautiful without the pain, well I guess I never ever wanna see beauty again."

I believe that lovers should be tied together and thrown into the ocean in the worst of weather and left there to drownin their innocence

hey...
I thought this was really amazing. I loved it. The beginning, about free-falling, then hitting the cement/ground, i really loved it.

This was just soooo beautiful and amazing...

I ask why, but in my mind,
I find i cant really rely on myself.

I haven't responded to any poems in quite a while...  But reading this one, I couldn't let it go by without responding to it.  Wow...  That was really awesome.  Thanks for sharing this, it was great.
