The Best Seat For The Nightlife

Come to me, my love,
For your whisper grows faint...

High upon a seasoned sea wall,
I take a moment from my emptiness.
From twenty feet above four feet tall,
Even the proudest Goliath shrinks,
And a small purple band of stars
Must be the mightiest of the meek.

This salty barrier stands alone against the anger,
Feeling the most bruised of all the earth cry;
The ocean spray cannot relay to any common stranger
How many times tears from heaven have fallen last hour,
But it has certainly betrayed my own longing for you;
Pray quickly for me on this lowliest of watch towers.

My common tongue has swollen to double size,
The words i have said blister my lips
And only sea shells can cut through the lies.
So please don't repeat back my brimstone thoughts,
My ears may melt as glaciers into the tropics,
Slipping quicker than any daytime soap's plots.

Come to me, my love,
For your whisper grows faint...
