Far from where I am going

0 posted 2004-09-11 11:23 PM

Hazy street lights
oversized structures made of
day old brick and a little elbow grease
highlight and interrupt
the overcast skyline.
cling and cluter
crowd the backseat
and grime lies
in a blanket across the dash
silence and a motor
sing together in offset harmony
while tires plot a course
through and to wherever
the gasoline will go
travelling backroads, main
and roads created this night
speakers ring out
as a melancholoy heart
sings words of pity
and of hope for himself
corners and curbs come to disapper
as lights streak across the windshield.
A love lorn soul
travels only to forget
all and everything
of love's obsession
and never ending turmoil

(just a poem i wrote in my spare time. Comments would be appreciated.)

I like this.
Driving reveals much.
Well put.
This inspired me.

I loved this poem, you have a lot of talent. Using a car in it was great!
