Far from where I am going

(Just another one of my love and longing poems. It's really just a reflection of how i'm feeling at this exact moment. Comments would be appreciated)

Never Good Enough

Friend to most women
not good enough for any woman
just slated for back up
and lookout duty
never living up to standards
always taking a back seat
to the world
forever to sleep on an empty mattress
the sound of one heart
in harmony with silence
falls as shards to the floor
in salt water lakes
never good enough
pathetic and quivering
left with unfulfilled dreams
and the constant gnawing of reality
never to be good enough

John! Don't say that!!! I'm postitive that there are lots of women out there who are looking for a guy like you! And don't say that you aren't good enough because whoever says that is just being dumb and proably doesn't realise what a great guy you are!

hmm... i think that the people that are treating you like this, are really ****** .

You dont deserve that. and they dont deserve you. One of these days, they will open their eyes, and see what they are missing, and it will be too late...

Why wouldn't girls do that? If a guy can give them all the resources (time, affection, support) without that girl giving up her body in return, of course they will accept it. Nice guys are for support, hot guys for bed. Likewise, if a girl can give a guy her body without having to accept the resources of time, energy, and commitment, a guy will be hard pressed not to accept it.

The most enlightening book on relationships that I have ever read was "Richard Dawkins - The Moral Animal".

Don Juan, the only advice I can give is that what you feel is very common: it is an instinctual longing that was built deep within all of us. Remember that love, while it is a beautiful thing, is transient, and it will solve your troubles temporarily. True happiness comes from within. Also remember that nothing is wrong with you, that the nice guy strategy actually wins out (in amount of sex and quality of the relationship) in the long run when girls are looking to "settle down".

Anyways, in summary, it's a crazy feeling and common in the game of sexual selection. What you should shoot for is building confidence and happiness in your life. Enjoy it, man. It's the only glimpse you have at this crazy existence, and of course, also helps with girl trouble.
