here's a new song i wrote for my band and about one of my friend's relationships.

John Wayne Never Dies (He just lives in ghost towns)

The ground has never
Looked more beautiful than now,
Dissapointment drive me home
From your parting words.
If only goodbye came before hello
We could end on a happy note
And fate never did speculate
About my happily never-afters.

City lights are the only blue eyes
I see,
Because I always skipped to the story's
Sad end,
And neon signs are the only tears cried
And seen,
...I love the loneliest ghost towns.

The asphault has never
Spoken so softly to me,
So your words become the
Background noise of this movie.
If only I didn't keep diaries of
Future losses to unknown princess'
Then I wouldn't lose so much
Paper to sadness and digust.

City lights are the only blue eyes
I see,
Because I always skipped to the story's
Sad end,
And neon signs are the only tears cried
And seen,
...I love the loneliest ghost towns.

Stage kisses are as fake as they come
And I'm prone to calling practise.
Puppy love only creates more homeless dogs
And I'm the most obedient of your hounds.
Goodbye to goodnight's and last second whispers,
Goodbye to late fights and past love flickers.

City lights are the only blue eyes
I see,
Because I always skipped to the story's
Sad end,
And neon signs are the only tears cried
And seen,
...I love the loneliest ghost towns.

Kinda reminds me of some old school grunge lyrics.... some of your metaphors are unclear though.

What sort of style would this be played in?

I write songs and  play guitar as well (dont know if you play the guitar, though)... but Id like to know what style to be able to capture the feel of this song better.

I left my wallet in El Segundo...
And I gotta get it
I got got to get it!

I loved the chorus.

The whole poem was amazing, but the chorus was what did it for me. You are an Amazing writer. Which i am sure i have said like a million times...lol
