Sleep descends upon the city
The gloom of the night
Only to be dimly lighten by the moon
The streets are bare
The homes with no eyes
Nothing moves
Except the leaves with the wind
Which howls a warning
To not venture outside
In this dark, gloomy night
You sleep in comfort knowing
The one you love is there
Next to you
There to protect you
Keep you safe
From any harm that may come

I don't get why no one replied to this one, I loved it.  I wish I could put that feeling into words like you did.  I liked the last part about the wind's warning and leading up to your loved one being there safe inside and able to protect you. I loved it.

Love is giving him the ability to break your heart...but trusting him enough to know he won't.

I really really like this one...I just like the emotion I can feel coming out of it. Well written!
Keep it up.
