My own world

Hey guys, I got this assignment in my English class. We had to write down 7 words that we thought of when we thought of Night and then write a poem useing those words. My words are stars, velvet, silence, cold, darkness, moon, lonely. PLz tell me what you think, I need to know and let me know if/how I can improve it!

Night
The bright, shining stars,
Dotted the night sky,
The moon illuminates the streets,
Hanging up so high.

The velvety sky, up above us
Is so soft and dark,
Leaving the silence eerie,
Leaving it’s own mark.

The night is so lonely,
So full of the cold,
Darkness creeping around,
trying to grab hold.

Night, so many different things,
Can be as crisp as the winter air,
The shadows dancing on the walls
Lurking places where people wouldn’t dare.

I'm not sure if that's the end (it's supposed to be 12-16 lines, she said maybe alittle more for me!!)
so let me know, I don't think it's quite finished! hmmm.......

"If ever you think of me out of the blue, just remember it's all the kisses I've blown in the air finally catching up with you!"
