This is written for all the seniors out there who will be graduating this year. I hope you all enjoy it again the rhyming might sound forced a little but none the less i liked it.

GRADUATION

Here I stand in front of you
The class of 2004
This is where an old life ends
And a new one has begun

Today we look at what was then
And what is now
For now you all start a new beginning

Taking a look back on the thoughts that you had
Noticing how much relationships have evolved
Some have gotten closer
And some have just dissolved

This is the present
That was the past
Who likes whom now
May or may not last

Try not to forget these things
And remember how you are today
Know that you've made an impact
In your own unique way
You are all friends now
That could possibly change
People always drift apart
And lives get rearranged

The only things you can count on
To last forever and a day
are the memories that you've made
They will always and forever stay

No one can promise to always stick around
Nobody can make forever last
Everyone can always promise
To never forget the past
But so many changes have occurred
With relationships starting
And old friends parting

Graduation may bring tears
Of joy, relief, and pain
But always remember
The secrets and memories these halls still contain

If the halls could talk
They could gossip as much as you do
About what's really going on with the students
Like who's going out with who

Sometimes you may forget
The necessities of being a teen
Like when your friend tells you not to do something
Are they really being mean?

Whether you've made someone smile
Or made them cry
You mean something to them
And it doesn't matter that you may have to say goodbye

There's just one last thing
That I really want you to know
Happy Graduation, and good luck
No matter where you may go.

I think that poem was great. As you know, I am a senior and that is all so true. I loved about the part if hallways could talk. I think that they know more than anyone does lol Great job....smile
