Deep inside, I am but a child
who puts on her grown up act
whenever she has an audience.
But once the doors close
and the lights begin to fade,
I know that I am truly alone.
Smiles are forced, tears are hidden
my life is nothing but a charade
that I can't seem to stop.
I'm stable one day, falling apart the next
and all I want is to be able to wake up
and be comfortable in my own skin.
