Here's something I've been working on...I know I'm new here, but I wanted to post this anyway.

You want a heart that's strong and true
I'm glad to give you mine
You don't want to give too much away
I'll try to walk that line
I'll do my best to heal old hurts
There's no better task
I'll find the strength you've locked away
The only thing I ask

Is come to me when you need someone
Is that so hard to learn?
You know I want to be right there
If your worries should return
I'll be your winter haven
A place where you can hide
When the hard times come
Come running to my side

You worry that I'll hurt you
Don't want to have me near
Trust me and I'll prove to you
There's nothing you should fear
It may take some getting used to
I'll try to take it slow
I won't go further than you want
But I want you to know

You can come to me when you need a friend
If there's any strength you lack
I'll be there to help you stand
If your hurts ever come back
You'll have a part with me
A place you can abide
When the hard times come
Come running to my side

I’ll do all that is needed
To help you on your way
Let my love surround you
You know I’m here to stay
Don’t worry that I’ll harm you
I’ll do all the good I’ve planned
Fall back into my shelter
You need to understand

If clouds should burst upon you
I'll shield you from the rain
If troubles should surround you
I'll try to ease your pain
And every ache you're feeling
In me you can confide
When the hard times come
Come running to my side.

really really nice poem.....
keep up with the writing..... you have excelent talent and are natural..... none of the words seemed to be forced into how the poem turned out..... really nice work...
keep up on the writing.. just be true to yourself and the words will follow......
