I'm 21 years old, and my mother passed away 4 weeks ago.I don't know if any of you know what it's like to loose a mother at an early age but it's been the most difficult 4 weeks of my life. At my moms funeral, I read this poem. It came straight from my heart and I put so much into it.

My Mother My Friend
You've started your journey, ever so sweet.
Oh the places you'll go and the people you'll meet.

Yet I have to stay here, but I know you're watching me,
guiding me, holding me, helping me to my feet.

Because you're my best friend, a part of my heart.
You'll continue to be there, like you were from the start.

People say I'm a splitting image of you.
And I promise to make you proud with all that I do.

Even though with my eyes, you I can no longer see,
In my heart is where you'll always be.

Everything I say is a promise to you,
And this promise I made will always stay true.

You're my day and night, right to the end.
You are my mother, you are my best friend.

Wow...I am really sorry to hear about your mom. I can't imagine that! She must be very proud of this beautiful poem you wrote for her, and she will always be looking down on you from Heaven.

That is so sad, I'm so sorry for your lose, I'm not even sure how I would be able to read that poem at a funeral and be able to make it to the end. It is a really sweet poem and I'm sure your mother is smiling down upon you.

I dont know what its like to lose your mother, but i imagine its hard to deal with. I know your mom is smiling down on you for that beautiful poem you wrote for her!! I hope everything gets better soon!

I'm so sorrrry i've lost a friend b4 and i know how hurt i still feel more than 2yrs later so i can almost imagine how devastated u must feel on losing your mom who u seemed to be very close to.i pray that the Lord will comfort u...and that was a GREAT poem emotion filled!

Jesus died that you might live...accept that and u shall be saved.
