the unknown realm of insanity

When I was little,
You were there with me and my sister,
Bringing all our sorrows to an end.
When you were here,
Our family was held together by your joy.

Time passed by,
We moved away from you.
Less time we spent together,
The more I realized how I really missed you.

The holidays came near,
And I just couldn’t wait to see you.
A month before Christmas,
You let go…

I thought constantly,
That I was the one who should have left.
I miss you so much,
Nothing is really the same without you…

All that we went through,
You were there to comfort us.
Now I have no one,
But the memories of you.

Its wasn’t your time to go,
But your outgoing passion  for everything still lives on.
Your going to be with me until my dying day,
Because I still carry you with me…

Delaney, this poem really touched my heart.
Even though it's very sad, it is so loving.
Thanks for sharing it with us.
