just another song...should be online soon...

Innocent
by small town mind

remember when...
we used to sing the same songs for hours
over and over and over again
never thought that would come to an end...

remember when...
you came to me when he made you cry
and i held your hand on that late night ride
it felt so right

you always said we'd always be...
just like that.

Chorus:
and i'd give anything just to be
the shoulder you always cried on
but nothing ever stays the same...
now i'm crying along...
with no shoulder to lean on
and i guess i'm the one to blame

remember when...
we walked around the ballpark,
just talking for hours nothing to say
but we said it all anyway.

i remember the way,
your eyes they shined in the pale flourescent light,
as we skated across that frozen floor
i felt so safe in your arms.

and i wish i could feel that way again...
but we can't go back.

Chorus:

Bridge:
i miss the way you laugh at me
i miss the way you sing to me
i miss the way you come to me
when everyone is leaving me...

i miss the way you hold my hand
i miss the way you understand
i miss the way you make me feel
when nothing that i felt was real...

i miss the way we danced outside
i miss the way your eyes would hide
but most of all i miss your innocence

and i know we can't go back.

"if you want me back...you're gonna have to ask."

Eric, even though this is a sad song, it's
very beautful. I would like to hear the
music to it. Thanks for sharing it with us.

wow that was really well done. Reminds me a lot of my best friend from High School. We were best friends all through Junior high, right up until grade 12. Then something happened and we just drifted away. We havent even spoken a word to each other since graduation night. and your totally right, you just can't go back. Thanks a lot for the read.
