Someday
long after the covers have shut out the cold
and the curtains have shut out the world,
she'll turn to you in a sleepy daze,
forgetting that her heart isn't comfortable
on her sleeve.

Half asleep,
she's twice as honest.
Half asleep,
she's wide awake.

She'll wrap her arms around you,
too tired to care if she's keeping you up.
She'll say you weren't what she expected,
just a thousand times more wonderful.
She'll whisper in your ear
everything that she's too scared to say out loud.
She'll paint you a picture
of the lifetime she'd gladly spend in your arms.
She'll drift off
only after making sure the last thing you hear is
"I love you..."

And you'll know
that nothing about this is ordinary.

WOW!!!!! That was so awesome!!! Beautiful!!!

Poems free us and trap us all the same.
But still they put our hearts at ease.

this poem seemed so sincere and honest and i loved it. it just had this..real feel. i especially enjoyed the lines:
"Half asleep,
she's twice as honest
Half asleep,
she's wide awake."

Great job on this one.

I can honestly say that as i read this peice, i pictured everything happening in my mind, the picture you painted is so clear.  I absolutely loved it, it is so full of raw emotion and sencerity, thanks for the great read.

wow very good work!! It totally touched me as it has many other people on this site. I loved your ending when you said "And you'll know that nothing about this is ordinary"
that was a perfect strong ending. GREAT WORK!

Beautiful, amazing poem.
I can't add much to what everyone else has said, but this, in my opinion, is perfect.
Thank you for sharing, Im adding this one to my library.
