The Final Crime

Vicious, snoring, drooling Beast,
Shhh – don’t wake his lumbering sleep!
For immortal beings are his feast-
He strengthens from their rotten meat.

Alas!  Hibernation no longer there-
Gnashing teeth scream in his lair.
Staring eyes and open ears,
Poised to gorge on human despair.

His power grows greater everyday-
Takes captive prisoners in full dismay,
A parasite feasting on moral decay,
Suffering souls can’t scare Him away.

Nasty Ogre craves more and more,
Swallows the keys behind locked door-
Hostages lie on Hell’s soiled floor,
Empty – lifeless at the core.

Spitting, grunting, hideous Swine,
Nothing sacred – or divine.
Captivity rules His castle of grime,
His motive is death, the final crime.

Neala,

Thank you...you think it is nice, huh?  I appreciate your response and that you took the time to read it.

The fact that I wrote this poem actually terrifies me - when I read it, the meaning for me is so powerful that it disgusts me.  But that is a good thing, because I want to let the monster sleep...forever...then I will never fall victim to 'the final crime'.
