~~A few lines expressing my projected liberation~~

Little Box

This little box holds so much.
Inside lies my tears and misery,
Inside lies my fears and regrets,
Inside lies my pain and panic,
Inside lies my desire for more.

This little box holds so much.
When I touch it, my fingers burn,
When I glance at it, my eyes ache,
When I think about it, my world darkens,
When I ignore it, my pain lingers on.

This little box holds so much.
I wonder why I keep it near,
I wonder why I can't seem to escape,
I wonder why I haven't abandoned it,
I wonder why it is still right here.

This little box holds so much.
So now I'll open this little box,
So now I'll empty it, bit by bit,
So now I'll watch the contents evanesce,
So now I'll close it, empty inside.

This little box is of no use to me.
I toss it away.
