"Forever longing to be free"

The days all the same
They blend into the next
I grow restless in this wasteland
I spread broken tattered wings
Wishing to be free
But how could I leave you behind
Standing at the edge of this wasteland
What if I threw myself into the rocks below?
This is as far as I can go
Broken wings trembling
In nonexistent wind
The sun does not reach me here
The only light I have is your smile
The only warmth in your embrace
How could I leave behind you
Who has loved me in this wasteland?
You who kept me from withering
Into nothing
But unless I go
How can I ever be free?
Dare I ask you to follow me?
Into the unknown
To leave behind all you know
I dare not
My heart is not so cruel
As the days never ending
Creep by
I slowly waste away
Losing sight of all hopes
And dreams
Will your light
Your warmth
Be enough to sustain me
For I can not stay
Nor can I leave you
To waste away alone
And so I'm caged
Weighed down by useless wing
That will never taste the wind beneath them
A caged heart
That will never know freedom
I will lay silent in your embrace
Trembling as I fade away
I will love you who has loved  me
In this wasteland
Folding back these broken, useless wings
Forever longing to be free
We waste away together....
