Just behind the wall

i stand i walk i fall
waiting for the train to come
watching for its smoke stack call
and for it will take me home

I'll ride with the sinners
Gamblers losers thieves
losing money and making friends
with low slung men like me

We'll dance the hornpipe rigging
Whirling ladies of gray
Burning time till we get there
round 'bout judgement day

Listen for my whistle
from death riding shot
as he burns the lost souls
and sends them someplace hot

But back in coach we'll whisper
of deeds we never did
we'll boast of endless victories
with our losses forever hid

We'll never reach a station
no connection's for us this time
we''ll just ride the train f'rever
least till we reach the end'r the line

I'm waiting for that whistle
just beyond where you see
till then i walk the back roads
where i'm meant to be.

To take a lot of pain,
take a lot of pain
Love is like a cloud,
holds a lot of rain
