 In the Mouth of Madness Sheltering storms Cover and comfort The anxious thoughts In a mind vexed By deceiving shafts of truth That pierce like spears Flung from skillful hands, Prodding and prompting Admissions of denial, A weak and torturous vein, A lode assumed worth gold. Taken out of context, Misconstrued by vain illusion, That self-exalting glory Which calmly screams In silent whispering. Following a trail of crumbs Left on sanity's wayward path, Losing conscious thought To desperate sterility As crows of mental mischief Blur the way. Deeper and deeper still we go, Seeking for the holy light Of journeys trackless end; Deliverance from madness Is a backward plan When seeking outwardly What only lies within. At last a chance misstep Falling upside downside in. The lips of chaos grinning wide, As one more blinded soul Is swallowed scarce alive. Featuring The Art Of Natalie T. Hmmm, I understand this more than I thought I would. I might have to read it again though just to cover the things i missed. But either than all that a great poem. {~~*~~} "You are not loyal enough to eat my orange jelly beans!...'cuase dat's just how I roll.." |
