perhaps the cigarettes add a creak to my step
perhaps my breath is immortal
even stones rot
this mind desires newness of life
the screams co-exist
the will prevails
secrets speak for themselves
voidless in my void of madness
down never turns up
rain evaporates
bulky the smoke
the smell
the emptiness

let go
exhale
let it go
inhale
pull and twist
even a gentle flame
refuses caress
and holds a permanent presence
thus the cross ensures

naked earth
wind ensue
raining mist
the fire that stays
in truth, off stage
only Jesus saves

I thought this was very interesting- I like it, especially the last two stanzas
