Cheer, serenity and calm is what the public sees.
Blissful as anyone could imagine.
What they don't see is the other side of the coin,
Laying face down and buried within.

He cares for all, all but himself.
Not one bit of selfishness or greed.
"Without my loss, few would benefit," he thinks,
Even though he knows of the shadow he feeds.

He loves his wife dearly, for she is held dear.
Deep inside, however, his inner concience is consumed by doubt and fear.

It's not her that he fears.
She loves him through thick and thin.
He's afraid of what's inside himself.
Afraid of the end.
Confused entirely within.

For every shadow, there's light.
For every dusk, a dawn.
Can he trust himself as the coin flips on?

I found this to be utterly amazing. Especially the last part:

For every shadow, there's light.
For every dusk, a dawn.
Can he trust himself as the coin flips on?

Very well done.
