See the pain See the hurt See the sorrow What you see is only the outside Look closer Look at the girl Don’t just push her away Look past the ugly face Look past the eyes Look inside her Look at what she goes through “Go away” This is what she has been told all her life Tell her you’ll be there When she cries Keep her going Keep reminding her that you wont push her aside If you don’t see the beauty that lays there Then you truly are blind See the girl that was once there See the smile that’s true See the laugh that lies behind bars now Now you see her Crying from the pain and hurt She’s changed so much From the little girl you saw then Who thought and believed that she could do anything Who knew who she was Now you see a girl’s broken dreams The bright princess lies deep inside her Now you see a dark princess takes her place Comfort her, tell her she’s important Then you can see the true girl that lies beneath All the cruel pain and cold heart Who despises everyone black beautiful eyes looking back at me telling me, no fear will show. |
