a subtle change in light
paints the sea a different hue
somewhere between dove grey
and winter’s steel icy blue

the sea roses are gone and the dunes
have flowered as meadows
with sweet yellow temptations
for the last of the butterflies

as flocks of migrating seabirds
wing toward the beach, the cry
of the loon is heard again
haunting the autumn sea

in that changing light by the darkening
sea, my fragile spirit transforms
into a shadow that walks a wintry beach
mourning the loss of light

"with sweet yellow temptations

Good poem, these lines stayed with me.

Very very good.

Thanks.
