My back lay to the ground
My face let the wind sweep accross it
Now I have feared for my life
I'm afraid I have lost it.

The battle was dark
It was the lameness of the hour
I could not quite see who struck me
And the night air smelled sour.

It was the blood that lay around me
And thoughts of my dear wife
Will I be forgiven for the many sins
Of such a bloody life?

I can only hope we've won the fight
I fought only fought for my land
Now I drift off into the next sad life
My blade within my hand.

Wow, i really liked this...it was very interesting Nice job!!

So no more hiding all your pain, you deserve a new start. That's why i'm closing myself away, this is a message from your heart.

Hey thanks

I'm glad you liked it. I'm actually rather proud of this poem.
