a haven for wild creatures and waterfowl
the glens and woodlands of this barren country
home of the fawn the white snowy owl
refuge for frail birds seeking sanctuary
from hunters who stalk fallen sparrows

with the transit like eye of an eagle
huntsman charts the degree and the angle
graphing the flight of the arrow
that will darken the blood of a small winged heart

each bruise a dark jewel in victorys diadem
a stone in the merciless sword of comeuppance
that delivers its reward on the neck of his victim
already bruised by the dull axe of happenstance

but gods eye is always on the sparrow
who with hollow bones will rise
coat herself with flame and feather
and soar beyond the common gravity of fools

The World That Never Was

A very interesting poem indeed. Maybe there is a survivor in everyone, or maybe they are one in a million. As rare as the sacred phoenix itself. Who knows, anyway, good poem.

"One last drink and the bottle breaks, returning us to the dust from whence we came"

Really Beautiful

~Should the truth be so buried
in the endless cemetery of broken dreams?~
