Closer to Hell...

Make them stop
These voices in my head
Make them stop
The voices of the dead

I hear them sadly weeping
Knowing that I’m keeping
Silent secrets of those lost
Hidden somewhere in the frost

Make them stop their silent pleading
I can see them dark and bleeding
I can hear their voices through the walls
I see them in the icy water falls

Names that are printed on stone
Fear that creeps into my bones
Reminds me that I’ve cheated death
But I may be breathing my last breath

Those I’ve lost to the bitter cold slumber
Come back to me on nights full of lighting and thunder
Telling me it’s all my fault
Pouring on the wound more salt

Dear friends that now haunt my dreams
In the night I can hear their screams
Alone in this frozen castle filled with hate
I lay down and acceptmy fate

Make them stop
These voices in my head
Make them stop
The voices of the dead

Now that is a line. "Dear friends" signify that they were once close to you and now they haunt. The burden of being the last of a clan. Or maybe i'm reading too much into this. Anyway good poem.

Kira I have been reading your work - this is a fantastic poem... the lines are perfect, the rhyme, the momentum carries you to the end.

one typo - and possible idea:

My Dearest friends who now haunt my dreams
In the night I hear their screams
Alone in this frozen castle filled with hate
I lay down my head and accept my fate
