Where the child can be free

These waves, feasting greedily
all upon a helpless shore
that must be protected
(though few overcome their blindness)

Hold onto your rock,
your strong and faithful anchor
so that you at least will remain steady
while the world erodes willingly at our feet

Understand that I look not from the top down
but up from the crushing bottom

The last line "up from the crushing bottom" really spoke to me.  Poigantly written.
