I know it's a crime for me to be writing here
because I promised you I'd set aside poetry for a
while and concentrate instead on the more serious
matters in life -- my car, my house, my hygene

I thought you should know I've been watching your
son quite a lot lately and I've come to the conclusion
that he's really sad he doesn't feel loved by
anyone and he thinks that he can't accept a compliment
for fear that it will make him look weak as though
he needs encouragement and he can't cry because it's
not manly and he can't love himself because that's
too damned narcissistic and he can't bring himself
to love others because their ulteriour motives might
be to take advantage of him.

I told him the truth that there's no god and he took
it so badly, probably because he'd been using god
as a crutch all his life and so I took that away from
him and now he is in existential freefall.

I know it's a crime to hate yourself but really your
son needs to do a bit of it; it will do him some good.
